Who can join?
The Mukilteo Community Orchestra provides amateur adult musicians with an orchestral experience in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. The Orchestra encourages people who have not played an instrument for a while to rekindle their joy of playing.
MCO is open to intermediate and advanced strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. Members enjoy playing a variety of classical music and sharing it through community performances.
Instrumentation
The Artistic Director defines the necessary balance of instruments and new members are accepted accordingly. A waiting list is maintained when there are more applicants of a specific instrument than meet the musical needs of the repertoire.
We are currently seeking musicians playing the following instruments:
Violin, Viola, Trumpet, French Horn, Percussion, Harp, & Keyboard.
Other positions may be available. Please reach out to membership@mukilteoorchestra.org to learn more about available openings!
Time Commitments
MCO rehearses September through May on Tuesday evenings, 7:00-8:45 pm, on-stage at Rosehill Community Center. Dress rehearsals occur on Thursday evenings before each concert.
MCO performs three concerts per season. In addition, since 2015 we have hosted a fourth concert in collaboration with the Snohomish County Music Teachers Association (SCMTA) to accompany several winners from their annual concerto competition.
