Meet Our Conductor!

Patrick McConahy
Rosehill Philharmonic Orchestra
Conductor/Artistic Director

Patrick McConahy is a Seattle-based conductor, composer, and music educator who loves building welcoming ensemble spaces where musicians feel supported, challenged, and proud of what they create together.

Patrick has taught music in Washington public schools since 2020, and brings a rehearsal approach grounded in clear pacing, clear communication, and meeting players where they are. He’s especially drawn to repertoire and rehearsal plans that balance challenge and comfort, helping ensembles build confidence, cohesion, and a strong sense of community. Alongside his school teaching, he has worked extensively with musicians of varied ages and experience levels through private instruction and community-facing performance programs.

As a conductor, Patrick has led university and community musicians in rehearsal and performance settings, including serving as guest conductor for the Western Washington University Symphony Orchestra and the Whatcom Wind Ensemble. He also conducted Western Washington University’s Student Composer Ensemble, premiering and performing his own original works with student musicians.

Patrick holds an M.S. in Curriculum & Instruction from Western Governors University, a B.A. in Music Education from Western Washington University, and an A.A. with an emphasis in music from Clark College.
